One emerging type of anti-aging treatment has recently gained popularity, but has shown amazing results for years. This treatment, discovered by NASA , is called RED light therapy. RED light therapy is characterized by infrared light, which is a unique type of light that has a stronger wavelength than other types of light. This enables it to penetrate deeper into the skin and provide many therapeutic benefits including improvement in the skin’s appearance and structure as well as relief from pain. There is NO UV light associated with RED light therapy.
RED light therapy is able to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and skin problems including acne and Infrared light also stimulates the production of ATP, an essential energy source used in body tissues that promotes rapid healing.
Our bodies rely mostly on the sun for Vitamin D. Unlike the other vitamins, D isn’t found much in foods, unless it is specially added as in D-fortified milk.
Some medical experts today believe that Vitamin D deficiency is a widespread phenomenon.
The older that we get, the less efficient our bodies are at making Vitamin D.
Indoor tanning provides a carefully researched combination of ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B, while eliminating the need to deal with outdoor condition. Sun is Life.
Many medications, topical solutions, and even some foods, can cause the skin to burn or break out in a rash when exposed to ultraviolet light. The consequenses can range from itchiness to an uncomfortable rash and burns.
At our salons, there is a chart posted on photosensitive medications and agents. If you are taking a medication that isn’t listed, you should consult your physician or a pharmacist before being exposed to ultraviolet light – indoors or outdoors.
•NOT all dinviduals who use or take medications will experience a photosensitive reaction. Also, an individual who experiences a photosensitive reaction on one occasion will NOT necessarily experience it again or every time.
•A medication will NOT cause the same degree of skin reaction in all individuals.
•Brand names of products should be considered only as examples; they do NOT represent all names under which the generic products may be sold.
Tinea Versicolor: A fungus originating on the scalp that falls primarily on the upper body and results in small spots that won’t tan. Not dandruff, but treatable with dandruff-strength shampoo over time.
Pressure Points: Your posion on the tanning bed may create pressure on an are of the body – mainly shoulder blades, tail bone are, and backs of calves – restricting blood flow and preventing tanning.
Vitiligo: Areas that do not produce melanin, usually an irregularly shapped patch of pale skin surrounded by normally-tanning skin.
